We, Chrysoula and Joanna, are Bachata Instructors based in Edinburgh (Scotland, UK) and we have been teaching together since 2019.
CHRYSOULA&JOANNA
Who we are?
Since our partnership started, we have trained extensively in Bachata dance and its different genres (e.g. Bachata Moderna,Bachata traditional and Bachata Sensual). We are both certified Bachata Instructors from the World Mastery program with Korke y Judith, and Daniel y Desiree. Our focus is on smooth partnerwork and functional styling for both leaders and followers. We are official EMENVI trainers for Magda and Valeria in Scotland, leading three world teams (2022; 2023;2024) and performing internationally (e.g. Benidorm Summer Festival, Bachata King Festival,Bachata Geneva Festival,Bachata Spain).We are also certified Instructors in Esencia Methodology by Marco & Sara and Gero.
Our goal is to guide our students to succeed in any goal they have and improve their skills in a lovely dance journey. Some of the areas we work with our student community are: leading and following technique, social dance moves, functional styling, body movement and musicality.
We run weekly classes and one-off Bachata events, bringing only the best of the best teachers and quality for our students and community!
We are committed to our continuous professional development and we will be extremely happy to help you and have you joining us in that amazing Bachata journey!
Background
Chrysoula is long and widely experienced in Bachata, dancing for over 8 years. Having started her dancing journey as a leader and being trained with highly-ranked artists, she specialises in leading mechanics and mixing all different bachata genres.
Chrysoula has also experience in contemporary, apart from Bachata. After meeting with Joanna, she came into contact with Latin and Ballroom, training and competing with her locally.
Chrysoula is now one of the most popular female leaders, known for her gentle and clear leading. She is here to help you improve your leading skillset or following responsiveness, your creativity on the dancefloor, and musicality!
Joanna is an ex-National champion of Kung Fu in Greece (x7), and a trainer. She combines long experience in ballet, contemporary, and jazz. She has been a champion and finalist in Latin dance championships in Greece and the UK.
Joanna started dancing bachata after meeting with Chrysoula and has intensively trained ever since. She specialises in active following techniques and dance expressions.
Joanna is here to help you improve your dance connection as a leader or follower, add styling in partnerwork, and build up your body movement!
Apart from Bachata, we share a rich background in Latin dances, contemporary, and jazz, combining together more than 20 years of dancing experience.
